Every day we pick one song and show you its opening line — nothing else. Your job is to name the title in six guesses or fewer.
Each wrong guess (or pass) unlocks a new clue in a fixed order: the next line, the decade, the genre, the artist, and finally the year. The earlier you get it, the better your score — and everyone plays the same puzzle, so you can compare results with friends using the share button.
Guesses aren’t case-sensitive, punctuation is ignored, and a leading “The” is optional. If you’re stuck, the “Don’t know” button trades one guess for the next clue.
When does a new song puzzle come out?
A new puzzle goes live at midnight in your local time zone, every day. Everyone gets the same song on the same date.
What counts as a song’s “first line”?
The first sung lyric of the track — intros and instrumental passages don’t count. If the opening lyric contains the title, that’s part of the fun.
Do I have to spell the title exactly?
No. Capitalisation, punctuation, and accents are ignored, and a leading “The”, “A”, or “An” is optional.
What happens if I don’t get it in six guesses?
The answer and artist are revealed, your streak resets, and a fresh puzzle arrives at midnight. Your stats are saved in your browser.
